Absract. The proposed article examines the relationship between verse and music in the context of the popular Bulgarian song and the lyric poetry itself. Its aim is to offer a way of incorporating poetry in the classroom using one of the media for realisation of the language. The object of the analysis are poetic texts written by authors who are part of the required and elective school program. Thus, the proposed way of learning literature expands not only the spectrum of dimensions of seeing the arts but also the knowledge about the poets themselves.
