Absract. The paper examines the extent to which problems from contests in mathematical linguistics meet the Bulgarian educational standards. Compliance indicators are introduced. On the basis of an analysis of the content of individual examples, we conclude that such problems comply highly with the key competencies tested by the National External Assessment after finishing the tenth grade. Some didactic comments are made.
