LOSS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract.<\/strong> This article summarizes the data of three-parts research on the bilingual knowledge and bicultural behavior of Bulgarian youngsters with hearing loss. The research was conducted in the period February \u2013 April 2012. The participants (students with hearing loss aged from 14 to 23) are educated in the special school for students with hearing loss in Sofia city and in mainstream schools. The results show interesting correlations and interconnections in the following languages used by the participants: Bulgarian, Bulgarian Sign language and English. The data show that in most cases youngsters with hearing loss use their own linguistic paths in order to understand a message written in a foreign language. The Thracian language is an ancient Indo-European language that was spoken until the end of the Antiquity in the Balkan Peninsula to the north of Greece and in Northwestern Asia Minor (Bithynia). The paper gives information about the sources of data about that language: ancient Greek and Roman authors and ancient Greek and Roman inscriptions, as well as about the preserved Thracian linguistic relicts: onomastic material and a relatively small number of glosses (appellatives).
