A rationale is given to the applicability of the created algorithm for description and adapted cognitive cycle for training, aimed at developing key and subject-specific competencies that pre-service primary teachers need to demonstrate in their teaching. The results of the study support the effectiveness of the tested didactic model for the effective development of competencies.<br \/>\n<em>Keywords:<\/em> competences; valuing sustainability; systems
