Abstract. This article is an attempt to define the concept of “psychological climate” and to search for its specific dimensions in a classroom environment. A brief etymological retrospection and rationale of the significance of the construct have been provided. Its main components have been outlined and their role in enhancing the effectiveness of the educational process have been pointed out.
